Go, Diego, Go!

Vedant Kaka ( Kaka means Uncle) in his effort to spoil my son even further ( he and the other kaka, Mandaar, spoil the kid rotten already by buying him all kinds of toys ALL the time) took him to see the Diego show at Radio City Music Hall. Nothing but the best for the nephew. Vedant, if you think that these kind of bribes are going to make you Rowan's favoritest uncle ever, then you are so right.

Fun playdate

The pizza got gobbled, the toys got played with, the kids got along like a house on fire, and finally, we found the perfect use for our new kitchen island!
Thanks J, M, Sadaf and Jeff for coming. We had so much fun!

Bestest-est Friends

Rowan's best friend ever is Lindsey. The two are inseparable. Look at those angelic smiles. These were taken at Van Saun Park on Lindsey's 3rd birthday.

Anya's visit

We had a little visitor this past weekend - Rowan's little cousin sister, Anya (my brother's daughter). She's now at the ripe old age of one month. I'm already imagining all the summer fun these two are going to have. Our extended family showed up to visit her as well. Hope to see you again soon, Anya!

Go fish!

Spring is finally here!! We awoke from our annual hibernation this weekend bathed in the golden sunshine of a perfect day. After cherry blossoms and magnolias what better way to herald our favorite season than with .... worms? Hillsdale, the next town over from us, organizes a fishing day for kids. They fill the stream with trout and distribute worms to the uninitiated. So off we went equipped with fishing rods (Sponge Bob - what else - for Rowan) and fat worms to try our luck. And although no trout deigned to nibble at our line, Rowan had the best time just holding the rod. With the innocence of youth, he thought the whole idea was to get the worm in the water.
For added entertainmentm we got to watch a duck fight break out a few feet from us. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed such a small thing as watching ducks swim. I read somewhere that as parents we always try to make the grand gestures for our kids - taking them to famous museums, or shows or musicals, for instance (and we're guilty as charged)- when it's the small things that brings them the most joy. It's a lesson we learned on our fishing day. Trout or no trout.
