Beach babe

Rowan LOVES to travel. Gets that from both his Mom and Dad. He did beautifully on the flight to Florida and back.
He loved the beach. I'll never forget how cute he looked in his blue Octopus tee and diapy, sitting under the orange umbrella, scooping up handfuls of sand. Now the pigeon. That was so hilarious. There was this pigeon walking around the outdoor restaurant, looking for scraps to eat. Perfectly harmless little bird. But Rowan didn't think so. Oh no. He took one look at the pigeon, and that was enough to terrify him for the rest of the afternoon. Poor thing, he was genuinely SCARED of the bird. I haven't seen such fear on his face, ever. ( Nor do I want to, of course.) But I have to admit, we laughed our eyes out.
The nicest part was not to have him be bundled up in 6 layers of clothes. And not have to put socks on him! That was the best.

I can't wait for summer. It's going to be so much fun.

linea nigra and other fun facts

Want to put down my pregnancy for posterity. I had every symptom in the book, and a few that aren't in any book.
Morning sickness, tummy troubles, linea nigra, dark pigmentation (my feet looked like they'd spent a month in St. Croix, and my hair turned TOTALLY BLACK), cravings for all foods Indian, exhaustion.
And the three biggies:
cerclage
bedrest
gestational diabetes

And the biggest pregnancy symptom - Rowan!

Winter is the cruellest season

Alright, enough already!
Enough snow.
Enough cold.
Enough COLDS.
Enough...
bundling up in coats, hats, gloves, boots.
wearing socks around the house.
holding your breath as the wind whips your face.
gator skin.
planning all your outings according to the weather.
having to stay indoors.
bare trees.
cold sheets.
having to wake up in the dark.

ENOUGH!
